Our trip to
London
4S, 29. Juni - 3. Juli 2013
In the middle of December we started to learn about London in our English lessons. We asked our teacher if we could fly to London in the last week before the holidays because these would be our last days together after four years of learning together.
She said that this wouldn’t be possible in the fourth class but she also thought that this was a good idea and so we decided to tell the headmaster about our plans.
One day our English teacher came into our classroom happily telling us a big surprise: We were allowed to spend four days in London. We all were so happy that we screamed as loud as possible.
The next weeks we started to make plans for our trip to London. It wasn’t easy to find a solution which everyone liked. One day before our flight I was so excited that I just slept for 2 hours. When I was standing in front of the bus which should take us to Munich Airport with my classmates I still could not believe what was happening.
Our hotel was great. Everybody was really nice to us and when we looked out of the window we got a great overlook of London. During the following days we saw a lot of sights and got an enormous impression of this mega city. One day we were on the top of the Shard. This is the highest building in London. The view was so wonderful that we didn’t want to go down to the ground anymore. We could see all the famous sights: London Eye, Tower Bridge, Big Ben, and so on. The skyline was so impressive!
We also were in Greenwich where we saw the Zero Meridian. In the buildings around this place there was a lot of historical information about time and watches. In the little village at the foot of the hill I’ve eaten the best fish and chips ever. Our teachers also gave us time to go into shops and restaurants. Some of us spent a lot of money on clothes, watches and souvenirs.
One day we walked along the Thames to watch the street acrobats and clowns who were entertaining the tourists. There were a lot of crazy people so we all took a lot of photos posing with them. We visited a lot of little markets. At the flower market there were so many people that we lost each other. Many flowers in all colours made me confused and I was very happy to find my group at last. We went through downtown with one of the famous red busses. It was one of the best feelings I ever had. Everybody was happy and we had so much fun together.
I really liked our teachers. They were so relaxed, laughed a lot and shared theses wonderful moments with us. We all think that this was the best way to finish the fourth class.
